M Countdown in Paris 2023 - A K-Pop Extravaganza

On October 16th, Paris had the privilege of hosting M Countdown for the second time. To mark this special occasion, an impressive lineup was announced, featuring renowned artists such as Psy, Taemin, Dreamcatcher, Ateez, Treasure, El7Z UP, Shownu & Hyungwon, Nct Dream, Zerobaseone, K-tigers, and Raiden.     

The show opened with a bang; Even though ATEEZ’ European tour happened earlier in the year, it was clear European ATINY had already missed the group by the deafening cheers. They performed an amazing collab stage with K-Tigers, showcasing Korean culture in an impressive and hip way.  

Rookie girlgroup EL7Z UP, who debuted through the show Queendom Puzzle, got to follow up on that amazing energy, performing two songs from their debut album. Later in the show, they would also perform a cover of Blackpink’s “Pink Venom”, showcasing their girlcrush side effortlessly! 

Dreamcatcher took the opportunity to have the crowd rock out to both “Maison” and “Bon Voyage”, because how could it have been any different with a performance in France?   

For their first time in Europe, Treasure received a warm welcome from both Teume (Treasure's fandom) and non-fans. One of the group's leaders, Choi Hyunsuk, couldn't conceal his happiness upon hearing everyone singing along to their hit song "Jikjin. 

The two members of Monsta X, Shownu and Hyungwon, delivered breathtaking performances of their renowned songs, "Love Me a Little" and "Play Me." The audience was left in awe by their incredible dancing moves. Additionally, Hyungwon had a memorable moment when a fan threw a turtle plushie to him after the performance. 

In the middle of the night, monster rookie group Zerobaseone had the opportunity to share the stage with fans selected for the “dream stage” to dance to their song “New kidz on the block”. It was an unforgettable experience for the lucky chosen, and a feast for the eyes for everybody in the crowd with a stage brimming with talent! 

The arena began to glow with green lightsticks as NCT Dream took the stage. Jaemin, Jeno, Jisung, Renjun, and Chenle delivered an impressive performance of their new song, "ISTJ." The screams from the audience grew even louder as the five members started their two hit songs, "Beatbox" and "Hot Sauce." 

Before the event concluded, the crowd had the opportunity to witness Taemin, a member of Shinee, perform his songs "Criminal," "Move," and "Advice." The performance by the well-known singer was eagerly awaited, and he certainly lived up to expectations. Taemin also teased the audience for his upcoming comeback at the end of October. 

The evening concluded with a performance by PSY, the famous singer who performed 'Gangnam Style' while reminiscing about the flashmob he organized 11 years ago in Paris.  

In addition to the performances, fans were also given the unique opportunity to engage with their favorite groups through the "Your Name" event. This event involved artists personally calling out the names of fans selected by the camera. 

The show extended for more than three hours and was broadcast on Mnet, allowing fans who couldn't attend in person to enjoy the performances.
