Dean announces his return after a 4 year hiatus

Dean, from his real name Kwon Hyuk, is a famous Korean R&B singer, rapper and songwriter und Universal Music Korea.

The singer began his career as a songwriter at the age of sixteen and started to write songs for kpop idols under the name “Deanfluenza”. He received credit for masterpieces such as 'Voodoo Doll' by VIXX and 'Black Pearl' by EXO."

Dean debuted as a solo artist himself in the US in july 2015, before debuting in Korea a few months later in October with the single “Pour it up” featuring Zico. He quickly topped the Korean charts, gaining the opportunity as well to work with multiple equally talented artists such as Crush, Taeyeon, Heize,…

Additionally, he wrote and produced two songs for Lee Hi and created other songs for Block B. Dean has also arranged a song during the popular hit-reviving JTBC show “Two Yoo Project Sugar Man” for a performance of Ikon.

Dean's last solo work, 'Howlin' 404,' was released in 2019. He had been inactive on social media since, until three days ago when he finally uploaded a cover on his Instagram delighting fans worldwide.

Universal Music released a statement on November 13 to announce the return of Dean with a new single set to be released on November 18, “DEAN will return after 4 years and 6 months. He will begin promoting his new single, which will be released on November 18.”

Dean's fans swiftly expressed their excitement upon hearing the news, as many of them had not anticipated his return to the music scene at all.
