Hybe takes legal stand for their artists’ safety and rights

On December 29, the six labels under Hybe—BigHit Music, Belift, Source Music, PLEDIS Entertainment, KOZ Entertainment, and ADOR—made announcements on Weverse and other social media platforms regarding cases of rights infringement. 

On the notice, Hybe expressed their commitment to continue to take legal action and hold accountable wrongdoers for their unlawful acts. 

The cases of rights infringement include threats to idols safety and privacy, identity theft, malicious comments, leaks of personal information and harmful comments on live. 

Hybe clarified that in the latter part of 2023, they intensified legal measures against individuals propagating malicious rumors and comments targeting TXT. Additionally, Pledis Entertainment pursued legal action against an individual for repeatedly posting harmful content about fromis_9.  

Furthermore, the company emphasized their determination to escalate legal actions to safeguard Enhypen and Newjeans from instances of sexual humiliation, hate speech, and harassment directed at their underage members. 

Hybe also warns of legal consequences for sasaeng (obsessive fan who acts in ways that invade the privacy of idols) who keeps sending parcels and mail to BTS members’ houses. 

The company concluded by emphasizing that even though the artists are subject to criticism and scrutiny as public figures, they also should be respected and protected as individuals.
