2NE1 announces their return to the scene

Yesterday, YG Entertainment shared a video in which Yang Hyun-suk (founder of YG) announced the comeback of 2NE1 to the stage for their 15th anniversary.

The group will reunite for a global tour that will start in October in Seoul, followed by stops in Osaka and Tokyo (Japan). The tour is expected to extend until 2025.

The group, which debuted in 2009, is composed of Dara, Bom, Minzy, and CL. In 2016, after a one-year hiatus, Minzy left the group, and later that year, YG announced the disbandment of the group. In 2022, the four members reunited to perform “I’m the Best” at Coachella in a performance described as one of the most exciting reunions.

While some netizens expressed their happiness about seeing this legendary group coming back for a global tour, the news also drew mixed emotions from fans, with some accusing YG of doing it for money. Fans explained that the group had to part ways because YG abandoned them and failed to protect the members.

“Did he at least apologize?”

“Now that they don’t have money, this was made possible.”

“After all this time… Should’ve treated them better when they were doing well.”
