Newjeans embarks on a new chapter as "NJZ"

On January 7th, NewJeans announced that they will continue their journey under the new name NJZ, following their conflict with ADOR over the supposed mistreatment and harassement of the members.

Hanni, a member of the group, explained that the name change is a way to turn this hard period into something more positive and exciting. The members are also working to resolve the situation so they can return to normal promotions as soon as possible.

Before deciding on their new name, the group asked fans for suggestions and took the time to carefully consider their options, as they were reluctant to part ways with the name "NewJeans."

“Even though we have to leave our previous name behind us for a bit, we’re not fully moving on from it and we don’t want to either, because (being NewJeans) was still a very special period of time to us, and it’s something that our fans also probably hold really dear.”

The group also revealed that their first official activities under the name NJZ will take place at the ComplexCon Hong Kong Festival, marking an important milestone in this new chapter of their career.
