Persona: Sulli, a tribute documentary dedicated to the late Sulli

On October 26, Netflix confirmed the premiere of the documentary “Persona: Sulli”. The documentary is a tribute to the actress who suddenly passed away in October 2019.

Choi Jinri, better known as Sulli, was a Korean actress and singer. Her foray into acting began at the age of 11 when she appeared as a supporting cast member in the SBS historical drama "Ballad of Seodong" in 2005. Following this early role, she went on to secure various guest roles in different television series and films.

In the 4th grade, Sulli attended an SM Entertainment audition and subsequently became an SM trainee. Around the same time, she moved into a dormitory shared with Taeyeon (a soloist) and Tiffany (from Girls' Generation). However, it was not until 2009 that Sulli made her official debut with the group f(x).

In July 2014, SM Entertainment announced that Sulli would be taking a break from the entertainment industry due to severe mental and physical exhaustion, which was exacerbated by malicious comments she received after a dating rumor. Later, in 2015, she made the difficult decision to leave the group.

Sulli continued her career in acting, transitioning into a solo career. She was cast as the main lead in the second season of the omnibus Netflix series "Persona." Unfortunately, production was suspended following the tragic news of Sulli's passing.

This new documentary will be divided into two parts. The first part, titled "4: Clean Island," will narrate the tale of a unique pig at an unusual immigration checkpoint. This pig harbors dreams of immigrating to the cleanest destination known as Clean Island, where, to gain entry, individuals must confess their sins. This part was the final work of Sulli.

The second part is titled "Dear Jinri." In this segment, the documentary will revisit the life and journey of Sulli as an artist and actress, shedding light on her thoughts and concerns during her 20s through interviews.

The documentary is scheduled to be available on Netflix on November 13, offering viewers a comprehensive and intimate look into the life of the late Sulli.
