SBS faces criticism following several incidents during the SBS Gayo Daejeon

On December 25, SBS hosted its annual music festival featuring groups such as SHINee, TXT, Aespa, NCT, ITZY, Le Sserafim, TVXQ, Stray Kids, and more.

The broadcasting chain swiftly came under fire as netizens engaged in debates about numerous issues that arose both before and during the festival.

The first incident took place on the red carpet when a man started to run in direction of Winter (Aespa) and tried to breach the safety rope to get to her. The security acted quickly and pinned the man to the ground. While some netizens praised the swift action of security, others pointed out that it should have never happened in the first place as we do not know what the man’s intention was.

During the ceremony, many people expressed their disappointment due to “poor” camera work. Instead of focusing on the performances by the groups, the cameras frequently lingered on the audience or aimed at the ceilings.

Two more incidents fueled fan anger, with some going as far as labeling them as sabotage. Firstly, Ten, a member of WayV, fell off the stage just before his performance due to an open trap. Despite the mishap, the member reassured his fans about his well-being, while many praised his professionalism in handling the situation after the fall.

Finally, during Stray Kids' performance on stage, a song from New Jeans played simultaneously in the background. Despite this unexpected occurrence, the group maintained their professionalism throughout the performance, even though the loud playing of the song might have been a potential disturbance.

Despite the numerous issues, fans were able to see incredible stage performances, creating a memorable celebration of Christmas together.
