What are the new changes in M!Countdown and how can they impact idols

On January 10, Mnet revealed that certain changes will take place regarding their M!Countdown program.

The music broadcasting show has announced that the charting systems will undergo changes, including adjustments to ensure greater relevance for 2024. The modifications will now take into consideration both domestic and overseas popularity of groups, placing them on an equal level. This change will have a positive impact on groups with a larger overseas fanbase.

Currently, the ranking considers social media points from official YouTube video views (10%). However, it will now include points from short-form content (type of content the audience can easily and quickly consume) as well.

In addition to the changes in charting systems, Mnet is planning to organize events such as mini-fan meetings and comeback interviews in the expanded new space.

The latest change involves the logo, which will be implemented starting from today, January 11th.
