Giselle opens up about her struggles and relationship with music

Recently, Giselle appeared on the 'Daebak Show,' Eric Nam’s talk show, to discuss Aespa's new comeback, their world tour, and the struggles idols can face.

At one point, Eric Nam brought up the topic of trainee life and the struggles they can face, such as the competition among trainees to debut, the stress this can cause, and the challenges that come with becoming famous at a young age.

Giselle responded that the first struggle she had to face was adjusting to the Korean language. Giselle’s father is Japanese while her mother is Korean. As a child, Giselle grew up in Tokyo, making Japanese her native language.

She continued by explaining that the second thing she struggled with was losing her love for music and not remembering why she had started her idol journey in the first place. However, she added, she is discovering it again.

Eric Nam reassured Giselle by saying that everybody goes through such crisises, even though he conceded he can’t fully understand what it feels like to be in a group and the pressure that comes with it. Eric noted that even as a soloist, there are days when you’re just tired.

Aespa's new album, “Armageddon,” is now available on iPurple.
