Taemin showcases his artistic growth in his last album "Guilty"

On October 30th, Taemin released the music video for "Guilty," the title track of his new album. 

Taemin held a press conference in which he discussed his new album. During the conference, he explained that the song "Guilty" was initially proposed by him for SHINee's last album, "Hard." However, the other members agreed that the song suited Taemin's style better, so he decided to keep it for his solo album explaining that this song has a deep story, and it was something he needed to do on his own.  

The artist aimed to explore a new genre of music for this comeback, intending to demonstrate his artistic growth to his fans since his last album two years ago. 

In a recent interview, he admitted that this album was inspired by the French philosopher Georges Bataille's 1957 book "L'Erotisme."  

Taemin also shared that, for this album, he had to delve deep into his past and embark on a profound journey of self-discovery to present a more mature and refined version of himself. He explained, “I wanted to talk about certain emotions, like the moments where we end up tolerating something that we previously thought of as unacceptable, and the feelings humans experience during those times,” 

The SHINee member went on to explain a part of his choreography where he reaches his chin by putting his hand under his shirt, saying, "Revealing one's skin can be embarrassing, but it piques people's curiosity. I aimed to strike a balance between charm and intrigue without making it awkward." 

He concluded by expressing his interest in doing a challenge with Hoshi from Seventeen, saying, "We've already filmed a challenge together, and we've discussed the possibility of collaborating on an album or a song. He's an amazing performer, and I have my eye on him." He added, "I'd also love to see more male artists with well-defined abs taking on the challenge."
