Will Kep1er's contract be extended ?

Kep1er is a girlgroup that was formed through the survival show “Girls Planet 999”. They debuted with nine members in January 2022. The group was supposed to disband in July 2024 following the end of their contract. 

On May 16, a Korean media outlet announced that the agencies of seven of Kep1er’s members agreed to extend their contracts. 

The group will supposedly be reorganized with these seven members. This new line-up would exclude the two members Mashiro and Yeseo, who have already signed contracts to join the group Limelight under 143 Entertainment. 

Following the report, 143 Entertainment explained that they are still carefully reviewing the contracts of Yeseo and Mashiro to determine whether they could extend their activities with Kep1er, but no decision has been made yet. 

Wakeone (Kep1er's agency) also shared, “We are discussing with the members and each member’s agency regarding the extension of Kep1er’s project group activities.” 

In the meantime, the group announced their upcoming comeback on June 3 with their new album “Kep1going On”
